As a speaker, trainer, freelance copywriter and author, I specialise in writing without waffle.
Here are some career highlights so far:
- You’ll find blogs and articles I’ve written all over the web, including the Huffington Post, Fresh Business Thinking and Marketing Lens. I’ve studied creative writing with Sue Townsend on a Greek island, and am an Ezine Articles Diamond author
- On the speaking side, I’m a Professional Member of the Professional Speaking Association (co-founder and past president of the South East region), and achieved Advanced Communicator (Bronze) with Toastmasters
- As for networking, I co-founded Bromley Creative Community and Croydon Ecademy, and ran eight BRX groups across southeast England (not all at the same time)
You might want to know about my qualifications. My Open University BA Honours degree included the psychology of how people process words and symbols. I also qualified as an NLP Practitioner (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) through INLPTA, for a deeper understanding of the power of language in written and spoken communications. I originally trained as a journalist.
In 2001, I started freelance copywriting under the Comms Plus brand after 20 years as a copywriter and senior manager in the corporate world.
I’ve also worked as a barmaid and a tea-lady. I hate tomatoes, alarm clocks and shoes, and like dancing, scuba diving and making people laugh.

I wrote my ‘little fish’ guide books to help startups, entrepreneurs, sole traders and small-business owners (who sometimes feel like little fish in a big pond). I also work with big fish corporate clients. My local clients are mostly based in Croydon, Bromley, Beckenham and Central London, but I have worked for clients across the UK, Europe and even Australia. Wherever you are, if you’re looking for a copywriter, let’s talk.
