Brain

Here I am at a convention in Singapore, running a breakout session on writing like a human in the age of AI.

At this moment, I was describing how the human brain works.

My left forearm represents the spine / brain stem, with my fist acting as the reptilian brain, where the fight, flight or freeze response lives.

I covered my left fist with my right hand and described that as the more evolved part of our brain, where both rational thought and creativity live.

Like rain falling in the same place and eventually creating a river, the more you think the same thought, the more entrenched that thought becomes.
